Strategic Finance for Senior Executives - Moscow
As a senior executive every strategic decision you make will either create or destroy firm value. Do you know how such decisions link to firm value? How can you make better decisions that maximize value creation and minimize erosion? Financial acumen. Strategic Finance for Senior Executives will help you learn the many tools that modern finance offers to further your firm’s business strategy and understand managerial decision making from a financial perspective.

This program focuses on the broader uses of financial information rather than on its preparation. You will develop skills to understand financial decisions that affect your business and operational objectives. You will also learn how to analyze decisions involving capital structure, cost of capital, risk, capital budgeting, and financial policy. During the program you will have the opportunity to discuss current financial issues with a top finance professor from the school that created modern finance. You will leave knowing how to communicate more effectively with financial specialists, including CFO’s, treasurers and controllers.
After attending this program, you will:
• Use financial information in managerial decision making.
• Learn whether to merge with another company, go private, raise new equity or buy-in stock.
• Understand the strategic implications of undertaking a highly leveraged transaction, securitizing the firm’s assets, or engaging in a joint venture or strategic partnership.
• Communicate more effectively with the financial executives in your organization about the capital budgeting and planning process, estimation of the firm’s cost of capital, and the firm’s optimal capital structure.
• Increase your comprehension of current analytical practices and techniques.

At the end of the program participants receive a University of Chicago GSB Certificate.
Who should attend:
Senior executives who do not have formal training or expertise in finance but want to understand the financial tools and options that are useful in key strategic decisions will benefit from this program. General managers of large companies as well as CEOs and Presidents of entrepreneurial firms and family businesses will find out what they need to know about critical financial issues. Over the three days, participants will experience Chicago GSB’s thought leadership in modern finance through a mix of lectures, case discussion, and small group discussion.
Note that all materials will be in English and to gain maximum value from the program participants should have a solid understanding of English. However, simultaneous Russian to English interpretation will be available for those who need it.
